- Newspaper Obituary - July 1, 2014 The Oneida Daily Dispatch - Oneida, New York - Gary F. Colvin - 1942 - 2014 - SHERRILL - Gary F. Colvin, 71, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, in the Oneida Healthcare Center, where he had been a patient for the past four days, following an extended illness. Born in Oneida, on Nov. 17, 1942, he was a son of Fayette D. and Freida Raymond Colvin. A resident of Sherrill for the past 26 years, Gary was a graduate of Oneida High School, Class of 1960. He married Karen Calnan, in the Town of Lincoln, on April 21, 1979. Prior to his retirement, with 44 years of service, Gary was employed with the Oneida Limited, Silversmiths. He was of the Christian faith, who loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening, painting and photography. Surviving besides his wife, Karen, are six daughters, Jessica and her companion, Rick, Robyn, Brandi and her husband, Casey, Teri, Anita and Candace; one brother and sister-in-law. Arthur G. and La Vonia Colvin of Victorville, Calif.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Doris Calnan of Canastota; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Doris C. Peters on July 1, 2003 and a brother, Charles F. Colvin on June 30, 1969. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, at the convenience of the family, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, with the Rev. Brian Fellows, officiating.
