    • Newspaper Obituary - June 13, 2009 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - JOHN A. PARKER - John A. Parker age 77 resident of Pulaski, passed away gently on Thursday June 11th at his home surrounded by his family. He is the son of the late H. Wallace and Florence Blount Parker of Lacona, NY. Jack attended Sandy Creek School. Graduated from Morrisville and SUNY Oswego. Served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1949-1952. He retired as a Sergeant from the Army Reserves in 1991. When he was honorably discharged from the Air Force he married Yvonne Wyman on June 18, 1955. Started his own business in 1956 which he continued to be active in until 1995. Retired from NYS Department of Transportation in 1988, where he held several supervisory positions. During his term of working with the NYS Department of Transportation he volunteered to work the 1980 winter Olympics. He enjoyed taking camping trips with his family for many years. After retirement he and his wife traveled the United States with their camper. He also enjoyed helping his sons in their business. He was a Master Instructor for Hunter Safety. He was a lifetime member of NRA. He was also active in Boy Scout Troop 865. Past member of the Albion Fish and Game Club. He is survived by his wife Yvonne Wyman Parker, son, Brian and Cindy Parker of Pulaski, son Craig and Rose Marie Parker of Pulaski, three grandchildren, Teresa Gauthier, Ashley Parker, John Parker and his wife Samantha. Three great-grandchildren, Britney, Gabriel, and Nathan Gauthier. Two brothers, Robert Parker and his wife Jean of Watertown, and James Parker and his wife Jan of Naples Fl. and Henderson Harbor, NY and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, William Parker of NYC. There will be no calling hours, graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at the Richland Cemetery. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to Hospice of Oswego County, PO Box 102 Oswego, NY 13126.
