    • Newspaper Obituary - December 6, 1972 Sandy Creek News - Lawrence P. Butterworth, 66, of Mattydale, died Dec. 1 1972 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. Mr. Butterworth was a native of Pineville and married Miss Audra Lum in February 1927. She died Dec. 30, 1943. Mr. Butterworth had lived in Mattydale for 28 years and was a truck driver for Onondaga Beverage Corp. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Mae Butterworth; a daughter, Mrs. Wilfred (Jean) Garnett of North Syracuse; a son, Stuart Butterworth of Mattydale; a stepson, Wilfred Brown of Miami, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Quackenbush of Parish; a brother, Leo Butterworth of Pulaski. Services were held Monday at Leitten funeral home, Mattydale, and burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt.
