- Newspaper Obituary - July 24, 2002 Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - NELLIE D. DEVAUL - Nellie D. Colvin DeVaul, 90, of 364 Upper Lenox Ave., Oneida, died Monday. Born in Oneida, she attended Oneida schools. She was ward supervisor for the former Rome Developmental Center. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Oneida and Order of the Eastern Star, Silver Star Chapter 21. She was a former member of Belles "n' Beaux Square Dance Club. She appeared on national television as a member of the Singing Grandmothers. Her husband, Curtis W., died in 1956. Survivors: Two daughters, Karen Leclau of Oneida and Linda Emig of Deansboro; a son, Jerome I. of Oneida; a sister, Irene Hubbard of Oneida; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Services: 10 a.m. Friday in Oneida First Presbyterian Church. Burial, Crown Hill Memorial Park. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, 260 Main St., Oneida.
