Alan H. "Tom" Lamb, 90, of Hamilton, NY, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Siegenthaler Center in New Hartford, NY.

He was born at home on August 17, 1924, a son of Llewellyn L. and Hazel M. Duell Lamb. He graduated from Hamilton Central School in 1942. He married Leona May Riedl on September 23, 1944. They shared their love for over 70 years. In 1944, he joined L.L. Lamb & Sons which grew over 2500 acres of cash crops in Madison County, NY. He enjoyed planting and harvesting crops with his brothers and father until around 1960 when the Corporation dissolved. He also was in partnership with his brothers, Darwin and Louis and ran Hamilton Ford Implement Company in the late 50s and 60s. He worked for Cossitt Concrete Company for a short time as foreman of a new Dox plank factory. After that he went to work for a New York Farm Equipment Dealers Assn. as its Executive Secretary for 25 years. He increased the membership across New York State dramatically while he was in office. He also was a founder of the annual Farm Show in Syracuse, NY. This show allows Farm and Lawn Equipment Dealers to showcase their products to thousands of visitors every year.

After he retired from NYFEDA, he went to work for his son's company, Lamb's Construction, Inc., in Sherrill, NY, as a salesman/estimator. There, he made a great many friends and was instrumental in making people's dreams of new houses, new additions, etc., come true. He worked there until he was 80 years old!

He was involved in many community activities. He worked with Madison County Conservation Club. He was on the Hamilton Central School Board, served as President of the Board and was very involved with the building of the existing school back in 1958-59. He belonged to the Hamilton Booster Club and was involved in supporting many athletic teams. He carried the measuring "chain" for many football games during the times that his sons played on Hamilton High School's football field. A field that he and his brothers and father helped build.

He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He enjoyed trips to Canada to go fishing with "Ace" Risley and Dick "Mac" McNealy. He also was an avid bridge player in Hamilton. He enjoyed and looked forward to playing with his bridge friends.

He is survived by his wife, "Lee"; his children, Blake and Margaret Lamb of Sherrill, NY; Sandra and John Habeeb of Watertown, NY; Mark and Myrt Lamb of Summerville, SC; three of his six brothers, Louis Lamb, Richard and Pat Lamb, all of Hamilton, NY; Keith and Norma Lamb of Eaton, NY; a sister, Beatrice Little of Pine Woods, NY; two sisters-in-law, Ann Lamb of Clifton Park, NY; Agnes Lamb of Charlottesville, VA; his grandchildren, Blake Lamb Jr., Devra Carr, Juli Lamb, Amy Hilliker, Frank McMullen, Mark McMullen, Kerri Hoffman, David Lamb, Kevin Lamb, Mark Lamb, Jessica Morgan and Michael Lamb; 24 grandchildren, four great-great-grandboys; 25 nieces and nephews.
