Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 10, 1940 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Leonard Knowlton Dies at Age of 70 -Funeral services for Leonard Knowlton, Furnace street, lifelong resident of this village, who died Wednesday, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., in the Methodist Church. Rev. W. A. Gardner officiated. Mr. Knowlton, who was born May 25, 1870, in Belleville, Canada, came here in his early boyhood and attended rural schools in this section. He was well known in this vicinity having been an insurance agent for about 25 years. He has been retired for several years. He had been a member of the Pulaski Lodge 648, I.O.O.F. for about 40 years, and was a past noble grand of that organization. He also belonged to Salmon River Encampment No. 31. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marcia Knowlton; a son, Wayne Knowlton; a sister, Mrs. Amy Bumpus, and a granddaughter. Elizabeth C. Knowlton, all of this village. A prayer service preceded the services at the church. Burial was in Pulaski cemetery.
