- Melpa J. Breton
Melpa Breton, 81, formerly of 195 Main St., died Tuesday Apr. 15, 2003 at the Sunbridge Nursing Home in Rochester after a period of failing health.
Melpa was born in Somersworth June 25, 1921 the daughter of James and Violet (Libby) Yerakes. She was educated in Somersworth Schools.
Melpa then went to Boston to reside and work for the next 13 years. She then returned to Somersworth and remained here working in area shoe factories.
Melpa was an active Member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries with over 30 years participation.
Melpa was the widow of Alphege Breton.
Members of her family include a son Allen Breton and his fiancee Brenda Downs of Rochester, NH. 2 grandchildren Tanya Marie Breton and Alana Lynn Breton. Brenda's Children Brandi and Shane Downs. 3 Great-grandchildren. 2 sisters Alice Hartford of Somersworth and Bessie Shawcross of Watertown, NY. A brother Tony Yerakes of Rochester, NH. Nieces and nephews.
