- Maria Knowlton Searles - June 5, 1861 - May 22, 1923. Plot A-211/2. Daughter of Calvin and Catherine Buck Knowlton. Wife of Frank Byron Searles. [Notes: Frank Searles was born June 22, 1861 at West Monroe, Oswego County, New York. Frank was an adopted son of William B. and Anna Douglas Searles of New Haven, Oswego County, New York, his biological parents are unknown. After Maria's death, Frank married Addie Clark Tripp. Frank Searles died August 2, 1934 in Pulaski, New York. Frank is buried in Maple View Cemetery in Mexico Township, Oswego County, New York For more information on Frank's second wife. Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, May 30, 1923 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Frank B. Searles - Mrs. Morera [sic] Knowlton Searles, 61, wife of Frank B. Searles, died May 22. About a month before her death she was taken ill with a severe attack of pneumonia and was on the way to recovery when a relapse occurred. Mrs. Searles was born June 5, 1861. in Canada and when a small girl came to this village with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin H. Knowlton, where they had since resided. She was a member of the Methodist church of this village and of its missionary societies, of the Women's Relief Corps and the Women's Civic Club. Surviving, besides her husband, are two brothers, Leonard A. Knowlton of this village and Harry J. Knowlton of Utica and a sister. Mrs. Harry M. Bumpus of Pulaski. Funeral services were held from the home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. Charles T. Holcombe. officiated. Burial in Pulaski cemetery.
