    • Obituary of Helen McIntyre

      Helen McIntyre age 91 formerly of Brownville, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Samaritan Keep Home, Watertown.

      Helen was born January 5, 1922 in Watertown, the daughter of Fred and Muriel Blake Shawcross. She graduated from Brownville-Glen Park High School.

      A marriage to Eric McBride ended in divorce. She later married J. John McIntyre on August 20, 1958 in Towson, Maryland. She owned the Brownville Diner for several years, owned the "Honey Ceramic Shop" in Brownville and was a Foster Mother for many years.

      She was a former member of the Eastern Star.

      Helen is survived by the following children: Jane and James McKnight of Watertown, Nancy Baker of Adams Center, Kathleen and Robert Stamper of Las Vegas, NV, Linda and Rowland Cobb of Las Vegas NV, Ronald McBride of Ellisburg, Billy and Ellen McBride of Gouverneur. She has 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Arthur Shawcross of Watertown and a sister Lorena Ballantine of Pulaski and nieces and nephews.

      She was predeceased by a son Robert McIntyre and a brother Frederick Shawcross and sister Irene Shawcross.

      Funeral services will be Saturday 1:00 P.M. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter. Burial will be in Brownville Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association 441 W. Kirkpatrick St. Syracuse, N.Y. 13204-1305.
