- February 22, 2005 Lester V. Dewey, age 84 of Forest Dr., Pulaski, died Tuesday at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton. He was born on April 17, 1920 in Ripley, NY, the son of Leon and Elizabeth VanOstrand Dewey. He previously lived in Fredonia moving to Pulaski in 1946. He graduated from Ripley High School in 1938 and attended SUNY Fredonia. He served in the US Marines as a pilot from 1941 to 1946. He married Mary Lou Woods on November 15, 1942. He was employed by Burke Home Center in Oswego, retiring in 1990. He was a former member of Ringgold Fire Department and Pulaski VFW Post #7289. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou; two daughters, Ann Foard of Lovettsville, VA, Jane Gotowka of West Henrietta; one son, Robert Dewey of Livonia; one sister, Marilyn Bretz of Port Charlotte, FL; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Donations may be made to NOCA, Delano St., Pulaski 13142.
