Frances Price Zufelt, 98, Maple Avenue, died Saturday at Loretto Heights Nursing Home, Oswego.
Mrs. Zufelt, a retired teacher, was a life resident of the towns of Richland and Sandy Creek.
Born Aug. 21, 1901, at Port Ontario, daughter of Henry and Harriet Brown Price, she graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1919 and Albany State Teachers College in 1925.
She was a descendant of Col. Rufus Price of Connecticut, a soldier in the Continental Army of the Revolutionary War, who settled in the Port Ontario area in the early 1800s. She also was a descendant of Benjamin Winch, the first settler of Pulaski.
She married Lewis Zufelt on Dec. 26, 1927, in Pulaski. The couple operated the Zufelt family farm on Route 3 near Sandy Pond from 1938 to 1964. Mr. Zufelt died Dec. 19, 1969.
Mrs. Zufelt taught high school in Belleville, Adams and Shortsville and was a librarian at Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School, Parish, retiring in 1966.
She was a member of Ontario Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; Pulaski Grange 730, Pulaski Civic Club and Pulaski Historical Society and made numerous contributions to the preservation of local history. She also was a member of Pulaski Congregational Church and a volunteer for the Pulaski Senior Center and Pulaski Middle School.
Surviving are a son, John B., Bristol, R.I.; a daughter, Eleanor P. Trendell, Pulaski, 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Two sons died before her, William W. on July 21, 1994, and Thomas B. on Dec. 27, 1996.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pulaski Congregational Church. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery, Port Ontario.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home.
