    • Newspaper Obituary - July 05, 1934 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - John H. Russell - John H. Russell passed quietly away at the home of his daughter in East Syracuse, Tuesday, June 26, 1934, following a short illness. He was born in St. Lawrence County, October 14, 1856, and had resided in Lacona for the past fifteen years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rose Russell of Lacona, a daughter, Mrs. Lee Colvin of East Syracuse, five sons, Ward J. of Henel, Calif., Frank A., of Syracuse, Holley A. of Fulton, Roy B. of East Syracuse and Wayland J. of New Haven. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ester Hancock of Altmar and Mrs. Ida Kinsman of Fulton, a brother William Russell of Utica and ten grandchildren. He was buried in Wesleyan cemetery at Lacona by the side of his soldier son, Delbert Russell who was killed in France July 15, 1918.

      Newspaper Obituary - June 28, 1934 Sandy Creek News - John Russell - John Russell, for many years a resident of the town of Sandy Creek, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 1934 in East Syracuse. Mr. Russell suffered a slight shock about a week before his death and his condition grew gradually more serious. Mr. and Mrs. Russell had spent the winter and the greater part of the spring at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Lee Colvin, East Syracuse. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, on the Lacona Smartville road about a mile and a half east of Lacona.
