Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 15, 1913 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Daysville - It is with deep sorrow and a feeling that mere words are totally inadequate to express the feelings of the heart that we make the attempt to write of the death of our friend and neighbor, Adelbert J. Robbins. Thirty-four years ago he was born in this place, the youngest son of James and Mary Robbins. Of a genial, friendly nature, he made acquaintances readily, and any one knowing him was soon his friend. The whole community is in mourning, for every one loved him. In December last he was married to Miss Katherine Reed of Chaumont, and the heartfelt sympathy of all is extended to her in this time of sad bereavement. He is also survived by his father, James Robbins of Sandy Creek, one brother Gilbert Robbins, and two sisters, Mrs. Eli Wood and Mrs. John Rogers, all of this place. The funeral was held from his late home on Thursday last, and the large attendance and many lovely flowers spoke mutely of the love and esteem with which he was regarded by all. Our pastor, Rev. R. F. Thomas, officiated at the funeral and his eloquent and tender tribute to Mr. Robbins' life and character was echoed in the hearts of all who heard him. The burial was made in the South Richland cemetery. A kind and helpful neighbor, a true friend, a loving son and brother, a devoted loving husband, he is gone to the better land to await the coming of his loved ones.
