Newspaper Obituary - Monday, August 8, 1983 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York Ellen B. Covey, 76, Main Street, Richland died Wednesday afternoon, August 3, at Oswego hospital. She was born July 10, 1907 in the town of Albion, daughter of William and Laura Wilbur Widrig. She attended Pulaski Academy Schools. She was married to Clinton Balch Sr. on August 30, 1928. He preceded her in death. She was married to Chauncey S. Covey on April 29, 1963. He died on March 27, 1971. She was a former member of Richland Methodist Church and the Richland Firemen's Auxiliary. Mrs. Covey is survived by a daughter, Florence Gerdon of Richland; a son, Clinton Balch of Richland; a brother, Richard Widrig of Richland; a granddaughter, Mrs. Gloria Gerdon Hayes of Camillus; a grandson, William Balch of Richland; and several nieces and nephews. Services were at 1 p.m. Friday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home in Pulaski, with Rev. Virgil Hager, pastor of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Richland Cemetery.
