A Mass of Christian Burial for Anthony F. Gugino, 89, will be offered at 9:45 a.m. Thursday in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Parkside and Parker avenues.
Prayers will be said at 9 in the Rubino Memorial Home, 1234 Delaware Ave. Entombment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
Gugino died Monday (June 8, 1992) in the Beechwood Nursing Home, Getzville, after a lengthy illness.
He owned and operated the Commodore Liquor Store at 364 Connecticut St. for more than 40 years. When he retired in 1984, he sold the business.
Born in Buffalo, Gugino graduated from School 1, Hutchinson Central High School and Canisius College.
He was a longtime member of Transit Valley Country Club, the New York State Liquor Dealers Association and the Holy Name Society of St. Rose of Lima Church.
He also was a former director of the Romulus Club and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer, bowler and hunter.
He was the widower of Katherine Armitage Gugino.
He is survived by four sons, Carmelo, Harry, Frank and Anthony Jr.; two brothers, former Assemblyman Frank A. and Carmelo A. Jr.; a sister, Giannina Gugino; 10 grandchildren, and eight
great-grandchildren.(Wiley)
