Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 27, 1938 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Self Administered Potion Ends Life of Former Pulaski Man - Said to have been driven by desperation by ill health and financial troubles, Harry Burr, formerly of this village, died from a deadly potion self-administered at his farm near Ellisburg about nine o'clock last Saturday night News of the tragedy reached relatives and friends in this village soon after the fatality as a distinct shock. Mr. Burr was born here May 25, 1887, a son of Adelbert and Maria Valentine Burr, and was a former employee of the Charles Tollner Box Works and the Niagara, Lockport & Ontario Power Company. Late years he has operated farms in Lacona, Adams and Ellisburg. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred Clark Burr, a son, Frank Burr, both of Ellisburg; one daughter, Miss Marion Burr of Syracuse, and a sister, Miss Harriet Burr of Pulaski. The funeral was held at the farm home Tuesday afternoon, with the Rev. Lee A. Howe, Jr., of the Pulaski Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Pulaski Cemetery.
