Newspaper Obituary - (date and newspaper unavailable) 1969 - Wayne Pierce Killed in Fall From Car Seat - The funeral of Wayne E. Pierce, 22, was held Monday afternoon at the Taylor-Vida funeral home in Pulaski. The Rev. Nelson Reppert, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial will be in Daysville Cemetery at a later date. He was killed early Friday March 28, 1969 on Route 11 just south of Sandy Creek. He is believed to have fallen from his car, which was being driven by Mrs. Pierce. Mr. Pierce was born in Watertown August 25, 1946. He was the son of Roy and Belva White Pierce and spent his early life in Lacona, where he attended the local school. He was employed at the Corse Press, Inc. and later by Schoeller Technical Paper Company, Inc. of Pulaski. He was married to Miss Jean E. Litts on November 12, 1966 in Pulaski. Their home was on the Lehigh Road, RD 2, Pulaski. Surviving besides his wife, are a daughter, Jacqueline, age 2, of Pulaski; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pierce of Lacona; a brother, George, of Lacona; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George White, of Lacona; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Molly Pierce also of Lacona. State police said the accident in which Mr. Pierce lost his life is still under investigation.
Newspaper Obituary - April 3, 1969 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Highway Accident Claims Life Of Wayne Pierce - Tragedy struck a Town of Richland family early Friday morning, March 28, when Wayne E. Pierce, 22, of Lehigh Rd. fell from an auto operated by his wife, Jean. Pierce died at once of a skull fracture, with acting coroner's physician Dr. Burch K. Reed pronouncing death. The accident occurred about a mile south of the main intersection at Sandy Creek, on Route 11. Lt. O'Neil of the New York State Police at Watertown, Inv. H. L. Fox of the B. C. I. and Troopers Thurston and Narrigan were at the scene, as well as assistant District Attorney Robert Nicholson. Wayne E. Pierce was born at Watertown August 25, 1946, the son of Roy and Belva White Pierce. He grew up and attended school in Lacona, and was married November 12, 1966 to the former Jean E. Litts of Pulaski. He was a crane operator at Schoeller Technical Papers, Inc. Surviving besides his wife, Jean, are a daughter, Jacqueline, 2 years old of Pulaski, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pierce of Lacona; a brother, George; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. George White, and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Molly Pierce, all of Lacona. Funeral services were held Friday, March 31, at the Taylor Vida Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nelson R. Reppert of Park United Methodist Church officiating. Spring burial will be in Daysville Cemetery.
