Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 30, 1947 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Dell Babcock, 79, Taken Suddenly - Funeral services for Delbert L. Babcock, one of Pulaski’s well-known older men, were held privately from his late home on Tuesday by the Rev. James N. Pauley of the Methodist Church with burial in Pulaski Cemetery. Mr. Babcock who was in his 80th year, died late Saturday at his home in Maple Avenue after an illness of only a week. He was born in the town of West Monroe, the son of Curtiss and Jane Sutherdon Babcock, but went to the town of Orwell when a boy and for a time was employed in lumbering work and was an expert teamster. Later he worked for many years for the Charles Tollner Company of Pulaski has an expert woodworker and sawyer. Possessed of unusual mechanical ability for a number of years past, he conducted a small business at his home in clock repairing and sharpening all kinds of tools. He was a member of the Pulaski Methodist Church. Surviving are a son, Myers Babcock, Mexico; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Cleveland and Mrs. Yates Mahaffy, Pulaski; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
