      Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, February 18, 1941 Oswego Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Bert S. Mickel, former well known carpenter of Oswego and more recently a resident of Pulaski, died Monday afternoon at his home in Maple avenue, Pulaski, after a short illness. He was 77 years old. He was born near Daysville January 8, 1864, on a farm which is now a portion of the Selkirk Shores State Park. He came to Oswego as a young man and for many years was employed by the Wright & Boyle Sash and Blind company, and when this business was discontinued, he worked as a carpenter for A. Paine & Sons. His home in Oswego was at 67 West Third street. He retired about ten years ago and since that time had made his home in Pulaski. Mr. Mickel was a member of Pulaski Methodist church. He was also a member of Frontier City Lodge 422, F. & A. M., joining in 1888, and a charter member of Whango Grotto. He was a member of the Carpenter's Union here. He was presented with a 50-year Masonic service medal by Frontier City lodge about a year ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sadie F. Mickel, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the family home, Pulaski, conducted by the Rev. W. A. Gardner, Pulaski Methodist pastor. Burial will be in Daysville cemetery.
