Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, November 16, 1904 Pulaski Democrat - Augustus Brown Twitchell died at the home of Augustus Learned after a long and painful illness. He was well known, one of the oldest and best known families in this location. His father died twelve years ago on the Brown (later Twitchell) homestead where so many of us have enjoyed many pleasant hours, and which was settled, over eighty years ago by his mother's father, Daniel Brown, and remained in the family until recent years. His grandfather, Benjamin Winch, came here as a civil engineer surveying the land in this location for the first time, and as our history shows, was the first white man to settle in Pulaski. His great grandfather Brown was a veteran of the Revolutionary War. He leaves a mother, Mrs. Pauline Twitchell, two sisters, Mrs. E. A. Reeves and Mrs. D. S. Barrett, of Cleveland, Ohio, and many relatives and friends in this locality. The funeral was held at the residence of Mr. Learned at one o'clock Saturday.
