Newspaper Obituary - Monday, August 19, 1964 The Palladium Times - Oswego, New York - Pulaski Obituary ¬Pulaski - Fred B. McLean, 97, died Monday morning in the Evergreen nursing home where he had been a patient for six weeks. Born June 29, 1867, in South Byron, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late George and Anna Van Valkenburgh McLean. On December 7, 1891, he married the former Edna Jane Harris. Mr. and Mrs. McLean came to the Pulaski area in 1914 where he owned and operated a farm on Route 3. He was a retired brakeman, having worked on the Wisconsin railroad for many years. In Wisconsin he had been a Mason and was a former member of the Railroad Brotherhood. After the death of his wife in 1938, Mr. McLean lived with his son, Jack McLean at Ramona Beach until his son's death in 1949. Since that time he had resided with two of his daughters, Mrs. Lewis (Dorothy) Sherman of Pulaski, and Mrs. Edward (Bernice) Gutchess of Syracuse. Survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Fae) Hinkley of Portland, Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Viola Tinkerham of Fond du lac, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Taylor funeral home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Nelson Reppert of the Richland Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Daysville cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.
