      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, April 10, 1924 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Morris Ames, 73, one of the oldest and best known fanners in the eastern end of Oswego county, died Monday night at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Elton M. Lighthall, three miles east of Pulaski, where he had made his home during the past winter. His health had not been of the best for more than six months. Mr. Ames was born March 15, 1851, on a farm at New Centerville, near Richland, where he had passed practically his entire life and had been engaged in farming up to last season, when failing health forced him to retire. Mrs. Lighthall, the sister mentioned, is the only near surviving relative. Funeral services will be held from the Church of Christ, Richland, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. J. Waterstripe. Interment in Richland cemetery.
      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, April 16, 1924 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Morris Ames was born in Richland March 15, 1851, and has lived practically his whole life in Lacona, Richland and Centerville. He was classed among the quiet home people. His wife Mary Blood Ames preceded him to her final home seven years ago the 17th of March. Since then he has lived alone until last year health failing he has spent much of his time with his sister Mrs. E. M. Lighthall. When Mrs. Ames was living many were sheltered beneath their roof when not otherwise provided for in the way of a home, it being their way such I have I share with thee. He was laid at rest in Richland cemetery beside his companion last Thursday, April 10th.
