- Newspaper Obituary - July 20, 1933 Sandy Creek News - Mrs. Laura DeShane - Relatives and friends were deeply grieved at the sudden death of Mrs. Laura DeShane, aged 56, which occurred at the farm home on the Ridge Road Friday, July 14, 1933. Mrs. DeShane suffered a shock Sunday evening July 9th and remained in a coma until she passed away Friday afternoon. Laura Eddy was born April 29th, 1877 in the town of Albion, a daughter of Thomas and Sarah Eddy. She was married to Orrin DeShane Nov. 22, 1902 at Sandy Creek. Nearly all of Mrs. DeShane's life was spent in the town of Richland, residing at the home where she died for the past 17 years. All he life Mrs. DeShane had been active in the service of others. A lover of humanity, she possessed the love and esteem of every one who knew her. Besides he husband, Mrs. DeShane is survived by two sisters, Mrs. James Colvin of Richland and Mrs. Emma Colvin of Oneida. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon at 2 oclock. Reverend H. H. Barnard officiating. Burial at Richland. Card of Thanks. Through the News we wish to express our sincere appreciation to all those who sent the lovely flowers to Reverend H. H. Barnard for his kind and comforting words, to those who furnished cars and to all who helped in any way during the illness and death of our dear wife and sister Orrin Deshane.
