    • Ellsworth W. Barber, 81 passed away November 17, 2016 at the Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where he resided.

      Mr. Barber was born January 25, 1935 in Williamstown, NY, son of the late William and Esther (Phillips) Barber. He was raised in Williamstown and graduated from Camden High School in 1953.

      He married Rose Marie Rowe April 5, 1958 at the Orwell Union Church. They lived in Orwell until moving to Sandy Creek in 1991. Mr. Barber was an equipment operator for General Crushed Stone in Jamesville for 20 years. He served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard retiring in 1995. He was Past Director of the Sandy Creek/Oswego County Fair Association, former member of the Orwell Fire Dept. Board Member at NOCSHI Health Center Justice of the Peace and Supervisor for the Town of Orwell and Robert Edwards American Legion.

      Surviving are his wife Rose Marie; 2 daughters Terri (Joseph) Howard, Pulaski; Debra (Wayne) Greenfield, Pulaski; 1 son (who is currently serving in Kuwait)Timothy (Lynn) Barber, Black River; a brother Ellwyn Barber, Pulaski; a sister in law Sherrie Barber, Anderson, MO; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

      Two brothers Wendell and Wayne died before him.

      Calling Hours will be Monday November 21, 2016 from 3pm-6pm at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday November 22nd , 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
