    • Williamstown, Oct. 18 - Miss Mary E. Stewart, 82, who had spent the major part of her life in Amboy and this village, passed away Friday night at her home here. She was the last of nine children of the late Clark and Louisa Comstock Stewart, and was born February 20, 1852.

      Miss Stewart was on of the most highly respected women of the town and will be greatly missed by everyone. She trained for teaching at the Sandy Creek training school and taught for many years. She was a member of the Methodist church, had been active and devoted in its work and had served
      the Sunday School as superintendent. She was an honorary member of the Board of Trustees.

      Her sister Elnora died in 1931, leaving her the lone survivor of the once large family. She leaves a number of nephews and nieces, among whom are Mrs. Dr. Simpson, Mrs. Albert Harris, Mrs. Ed Jenkins of Williamstown and James Bartlett of Amboy.

      The funeral was held Monday 1:30 o'clock from her late home, the Rev. Robert Belbin officiating. Mrs. Millard Weaver sang. The bearers were Ed Jenkins, Rowley Nihols, William Bartlett, Albert Harris. Interment in Fairview cemetery, with Undertaker Smith of Camden in charge.
