Newspaper Obituary - Tuesday, May 28, 2002 Syracuse Post-Standard - Syracuse, New York - Ruth L. Thurston, Homemaker - Ruth L. Thurston, 64, of 1877 Harwood Drive, died Monday at the home of a granddaughter in Pulaski. Ms. Thurston was a homemaker. Born October 13, 1937, in Auburn, daughter of Norton and Frances Bowen Thurston, she attended school in Auburn. She was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church in Syracuse. Surviving are three daughters, Terry Thurston and Eva Tibbles, both of Lacona, and Evaleen Holder, Pulaski; seven sons, Morris Thurston, Altmar, Raymond Thurston, Boylston, Clifford Thurston, Sandy Creek, Albert and Stanley Thurston, both of Lacona, Irving Thurston, Pulaski, and Gavin Thurston, Syracuse; three sisters, Caroline Gilcrest, Syracuse, and Linda Allen and Sandra Fletcher, both of Lacona; a brother, Norman Thurston, Lacona, 30 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Norton and Paul Thurston, and two sisters, Eva Higgins and Helen Thurston, died before her. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours will be 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
