    • PULASKI - William P. VanWormer, 73 of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday evening, July 26, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

      He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Truman and Leona Maloney VanWormer.

      Mr. VanWormer was the husband of Barbara Foote VanWormer,

      He had been employed for more than 27 years at Alcan until his retirement. He was the owner of the “Lucky Dutchman” charter service that operated out of Wrights Landing and the Feeder Creek Lodge in Fernwood.

      He was a member of the Lake Ontario Charter Fisherman’s Association and the former president of the Mad River Club. He had served as a volunteer at the H. Lee White Marine Museum and through his efforts made the rides to the Oswego Light House possible.

      In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by two daughters, Carrie (Brian) Wines of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Andrea (Matthew) Whelpton of Bradenton, Florida; one son, Mark (Leasia) VanWormer of Bradenton, Florida; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Dain-Cullinan funeral Home.

      Burial will be in Pecks Cemetery.

      Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
