      William G. Wafful, Sr.

      William G. Wafful, Sr., 83, of East Syracuse, passed away Saturday at home. He was born in Pulaski and has lived in East Syracuse for 75 years. He retired from GE in 1997 after 33 years and had worked part time for Wegman's. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a member of Arthur Butler American Legion Post 359 and was a life member of the Simon Parise VFW Post 9596. He was predeceased by his parents, Cornelius and Stella and sister, Norma Hall. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Betty Hedgecoke; sons, William Jr. (Diane) of Nedrow, Robert of East Syracuse and James (Kathleen) of Baldwinsville; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn and James Wafful, Rachel Clemons and Jennifer Collins; two great-grandchildren, Brianna Centro and Lexie Collins; two nieces and brother-in-law, Allen Hall. Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 27 at Delaney Greabell Adydan Funeral Home at 241 Kinne St., East Syracuse, funeral services to follow. Burial will be in Orwell Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to EAVES, PO Box 34, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
