Notes - Robert W. Maitland, age 82, life resident of Pulaski and Richland, passed away, Wednesday, June 29th at St. Luke's Nursing Home, Oswego. Robert was born April 16, 1929 in Orwell, the son of Rex and Ethel Archibee Maitland. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1947. Robert married Cecilia Werner on December 2, 1950, she died February of 1978. He served as the Veteran's Affairs Officer for Oswego County for 20 years, retiring in 1991. He also served in the United States Air Force from 1947 until 1967. Robert was a member of the Pulaski VFW Post #7289, and the Robert Edwards American Legion Post # 358, Pulaski. He was also an avid golfer.
Surviving, one son Michael (Donna) Maitland of Constantia, two daughters, Pamela (Larry) Gregory of Pulaski, and Susan (Andy) Douglass of Pulaski, one brother, John Maitland of Orwell, three sisters, Blanche Williams of Pulaski, Beverly (Tille) Sanderson of Pulaski, and Marilyn Sanderson of Pillar Point, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 9th at the Pulaski VFW Post # 7289. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, the Pulaski VFW Post #7289, 4815, Salina Street, Pulaski, NY 13142 or to the Robert Edwards American Legion Post # 358, 3350 Maple Avenue, Pulaski, NY 13142.
