Newspaper Obituary - Friday, May 31, 1963 The Post Standard - Syracuse, New York - H. C. Nicholson, Livestock Dealer, Succumbs at 64 - Pulaski - Howard C. Nicholson, 64, died unexpectedly Thursday in Oswego Hospital. He was a widely known farmer and cattle dealer. Mr. Nicholson was an assistant rural mail carrier for more than 40 years. Born in Fernwood, he was a member of the Lincoln Bank Advisory Committee and the Fernwood Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Dolph Nicholson; a daughter, Mrs. Everett Backus of Mexico; a grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hager and Mrs. Arnold Davis, both of Pulaski, and Mrs. Esther LeBeau of Brewerton; two brothers, Harold and Henry Nicholson of Mexico; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Taylor Funeral Home, Jefferson Street, the Rev. Robert North, pastor of Fernwood Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Heart Fund.
