      Newspaper Obituary - Saturday Afternoon, January 21, 1950 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Mrs. George Dyke, Aged 79, Long Ill, Dies At Pulaski - Pulaski, January 21 - Mrs. Elvena Dyke, 79, wife of George Dyke, died at the North Park nursing home last night after a long illness. She broke her hip some weeks ago and had been hospitalized in Syracuse prior to entering the local nursing home. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 in Pulaski Methodist church, Rev. James N. Pauley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Willis cemetery. The body has been removed to the home of Edward Carl, North street, where friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday morning. Surviving besides her husband are two granddaughters, Shirley and Vivian Carpenter, both of Pulaski. Born July 15, 1870, in the town of Richland, daughter of Johnathan and Mary Varah Atkinson, she was educated in Pulaski schools and was married in 1890 to George Dyke. She was a life resident of the Pulaski area and a former member of Rising Sun Rebekah lodge and was affiliated with the Fernwood Methodist church.
