Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 18, 1935 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Lewis J. Macy - Mrs. Cora Austin Macy, widow of the late Lewis J. Macy, died suddenly at her home on Broad street. late Wednesday afternoon, December Ilth, following an illness of but three days. Cora Belle Austin was born in Pulaski January 24, 1864 a daughter of William Fayette and Alzina Nichols Austin. She attended the village school and had always made her home here. On January 27, 1885 she was married to Mr. Macy, who for many years was a leading businessman in this village and prominent in local patriotic and fraternal organizations. He died in February, 1926. Mrs. Macy took over his insurance business, representing the Providence Washington and Firemen's Fund Insurance companies, and continued to conduct it. Mrs. Macy was a member of J. B. Butler Women's Relief Corps. and a charter member of Pulaski Chapter No. 159, order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. F. Clayton Clark of Syracuse and a sister Miss Elizabeth Austin of this village. The funeral was held from the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Brother R. H. Barber. Manager of Syracuse Center of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Burial was in the family plot in Pulaski cemetery. The bearers were Fred G. Mahaffy, Hugh F. Whitney. T. A. Campbell, William Prescott, William Eason and Donald Clark.
