      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 20, 1897 Mexico Independent - Mexico, New York - South Richland, January 18, 1897 ¬Miss Mary Conant passed away on Thursday afternoon of last week. She was a victim of that dread disease, consumption. The funeral was held from the home on Saturday, at 1 o'clock. The family have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.

      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, January 20, 1897 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - South Richland - Died, at her home, January 14, Miss Mary Conant, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Conant. Mary was born in Holmesville and grew to womanhood in our midst. She was a girl who possessed a sunny disposition, one so bright and sweet that she found friends and always had a kind pleasant word and smile for all whom she met. She was the light and life of the home which is now shrouded by the death angel. She had been sick a long time but uncomplainingly bore her suffering with sweetness and grace. Funeral services at her father's home, conducted by Rev. R. Sherman, on Saturday, January 16, interment in Willis cemetery. A brother, father and mother will mourn and miss Mary.
