Arlon Fluett King, 85 of Pulaski, NY, passed in peace the morning of January 3, 2020, at Seneca Hills Manor.

Arlon was born to Charles Fluett and Grace Elizabeth King in Battle Creek, Michigan.

He is survived by his identical twin brother Allan and sister Marleen. He was predeceased by his

newborn son Michael, and by his older brother Donald.

Arlon spent his childhood and matured into a fine young man on the family farm in Colon, Michigan. This

is where, at the age of sixteen, he met his high school sweetheart Sylvia (Bokhart) King. Arlon and Sylvia

married on June 9, 1956, and spent the next sixty-three years building and enjoying a loving family.

Arlon earned a degree in Chemistry from Western Michigan University and soon after entered the

papermaking industry, serving in different capacities and locations from Vicksburg, Michigan, to

Modesto, California. He established his roots at Schoeller Technical Papers in Pulaski, where he headed

the Marketing department. Arlon was a respected leader and innovator of paper products, supporting

the booming photo and greeting cards markets across the globe, until retiring in 1992.

Arlon and Sylvia owned and operated two restaurants in the Pulaski area - Frick and Frack’s, a 24hr

diner establishment, and later Memories Fining Dining, where you could always expect a warm family

welcome from them both as you graced their doorstep.

Arlon was an active member in the Pulaski community, offering his service as a Richland Town Justice,

Grievance Board member, and Town Councilmen. Ar also served in various organizations including the

Pulaski Little League, Mad River Club and Service Club.

Arlon enjoyed reliving the farming days of his youth with an expansive greenhouse/vegetable garden

and countless projects on the King Ranch of Hinman Road. To relax, Arlon enjoyed hunting, fishing and

camping with his family, cooking, wine making and various other culinary adventures.

Arlon and Sylvia have four grown children. Cindy (King) and Vern Wyman of Wakefield RI, Tim and Lisa

(Houk) King of Killingworth CT, Tom and Patti (Geatrakas) King of Sandy Pond, NY, and Jay and Sandy

(Farr) King of Allegany NY. The love of Pa’s life was spending time with his grandchildren, Beth, Jim,

David, Ryan, Maggie, Andrew, Mikayla, Morgan and Madison.

Arlon will be memorialized at a service at Summerville Funeral Home in Sandy Creek, NY on 6pm Monday January 6, 2020. The service will follow visitation hours with the family starting at 4pm.
