    • Newspaper Obituary - June 6, 1928 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs V. Woodard - Mrs. Mary Violet Woodard, widow of the late George J. Woodard died Saturday May 26th 1928 at one o'clock that morning at the home of her son Jesse A. Woodard, 1 State Place, Watertown. She had been unusually well until the preceding Monday when she suffered from an attack of influenza. Mrs. Woodard was a native of Richland, born January 7th 1848, a daughter of the late Calvin and Mary Decker White, who resided north of Richland Station. After her marriage Mrs. Woodard resided in the western part of the town of Sandy Creek and for many years on the farm later known as the Delos Carpenter farm. For the past 23 years Mrs. Woodard had been a resident of Watertown where her husband died in 1913. Mrs. Woodard was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Watertown and the Ladies Bible Class. The only survivor is her son, Jesse O. Woodard. Funeral Services were held Tuesday at 2pm from her home, 1 State Place, Rev. Dr. Darwin F. Pickard of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment at Sandy Creek. Though she had been away from here almost a quarter of a century, she has many warm friends in Sandy Creek township who deeply regret her passing. She was known to her friends universally as Diley, thus signing her name.
