- Feb 1 1990 Valley News Harry L. Nicholson, 86, of County Route 41, Mexico, died Friday at Oswego Hospital after a long illness. A native of Richland, Mr. Nicholson lived in Mexico since 1927. He retired as the owner and operator of a farm. His wife, the former Dorris Borce, died in 1975. Mr. Nicholson was a member of the Fernwood United Methodist Church, a member and past master of Mexico Lodge 137, F&AM, and a member of Chapter 135, Royal Arch Masons. He was a committeeman with the Oswego County ASCS and a member of the Fernwood Grange. He also served several years as assessor for the town of Mexico and was a member of the New York State Assessors Association. Surviving are a son, William of Mexico; two daughters, Doris Ann Backus of Mexico and Marilyn Hilton of Pulaski. Services were held Monday, Jan. 29,. at Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald Easton officiating. Spring burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery. Feb 1 1990 Valley News
