- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, October 1, 1863 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Sandy Creek - Miss H. Kate White died on Thursday of last week, of typhoid fever. She has formerly contributed some pieces of beautiful poetry &c, to our columns, and was a writer of unusual promise. James G. Clark, the distinguished balladist and poet, on seeing one of her poems in our paper, expressed strong and unqualified admiration of her poetical talent and prophesied her success in that direction. Alas! "Death loves a shining mark."
