Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, February 22, 1997 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Nettie L. Ostrander, Retired Food Service Worker - Nettie L. Ostrander, 100, formerly of Springbrook Apartments, died Wednesday at the Palatine Nursing Home, Palatine Bridge, where she had resided for two months. Mrs. Ostrander was a food service worker at Pulaski Central School for 20 years, retiring in 1967. Previously, she worked at the five-and-dime store, Jack's Restaurant and the Regal Paper Co., all formerly in Pulaski. Born December 15, 1896, in Ogdensburg, daughter of Napoleon and Ellen Gilbert LeBeau, she attended school in Pulaski, where her family had moved in 1900. She married Dan L. Ostrander on December 15, 1915, in Fernwood with the Rev. Paul Dunning officiating. Mr. Ostrander died July 2, 1975. Mrs. Ostrander was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church and the Silver Crest Rebekah Lodge, Mexico. Surviving are two sons, Kenneth H., Pulaski, and Frank J., Constantia; three daughters, Ruth Wells and Jane Barney, both of Johnstown, and Dorothy Endsley, Redfield; a sister, Ellen Lambert, Hendersonville, North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. A spring funeral will be at a time to be announced. Spring burial will be in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Arrangements are with Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Ringgold Fire Company Building Fund or the Pulaski Baptist Church.
