- Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 5, 1867 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Fatal Accident - On Thursday of last week, August 29th, an accident occurred at the Wardwell Settlement, in Jefferson County, causing the death of Mr. Henry C. White, of this town. He was engaged in erecting a bridge across the South branch of Sandy Creek, when the horses or temporary supports, upon which the men were at work, fell, precipitating five persons, with the timber, into the water. Mr. White was so badly injured that he lived but a short time. He was a brother of Mr. G. W. White, now erecting the bridge here, and was nearly 29 years of age. Jas. Bradshaw, of Oswego, and Charles James, living in the neighborhood, were also seriously injured.
