- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, December 13, 1911 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Nehemiah White - Nehemiah White, well known to this community, died at the hospital in the Ogdensburg, Friday morning and the remains were brought to Pulaski, Saturday to the home of Mrs. Cornelia Ling, where the funeral was held on Monday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. H. A. Lawrence officiating. Dr. White was born in Vermont, seventy-five years ago. He was a close student and became a man of letters. He came to this village in 1865 and was principal of our Academy several years. While here he married the daughter of Lorenzo Ling. She died several years ago. He had the care of his daughter, Frances until his health was so impaired he was obliged to go to the hospital two years ago and there he remained until his death. He was a man of great intellect and broad education. He had a distinguished relation to many colleges and universities. Besides his daughter he leaves one son, Dr. W. J. White of Longmont, Colorado. His funeral was held Monday afternoon, Rev. Dr. I. M. White, pastor of the Universalist church at Canton conducting the service, assisted by Rev. H. A. Lawrence of this village.
