About 10 years ago she went to Syracuse with her husband. There are no immediate survivors. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home, Thursday. Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, December 23, 1943 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - In Memory of Mrs. Merton L. Bennett - Mrs. Lizzie Gillespie Bennett passed from this life on the morning of November 15, 1943. Mrs. Bennett had been a patient in the Crouse Irving Hospital, Syracuse for several years. Through all the years she had kept a keen interest in Pulaski and those associated with her during her residence in this place. She never failed in doing her part in helping the societies of which she was a member when her home was here. Mrs. Bennett was ever a quiet, unassuming person but to those who knew her while she was known as a true friend. Many times there were little acts of kindness done by her for others, unknown to few, except to those to whom she hoped to give pleasure. She had been a member of the Ontario chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution for more than 25 years and we feel sure that she was always interested in the things for which the society stands. During her stay in the hospital, she had a marker placed for her ancestor who served in the war of 1812. At that time a delegation from Syracuse chapter Daughters of 1812 came to Pulaski to assist in the ceremonies. We wish to express, in some small way our appreciation for her interest in our chapter. A good friend and an interested member has gone from our society. Ida B. Hadley, Mabel B. Curtiss, Ruth A. McChesney, Committee.
