      Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, July 26, 1920 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Carrie Woods Bentley, daughter of the late Gilbert A. and Martha W. Woods and wife of William H. Bentley of this village, passed away at six o'clock Thursday afternoon, June 22, 1920 at the family home "Woodlawn." Mrs. Bentley was born at "Woodlawn" July 17, 1841 and was seventy-nine years of age. For a time she had lived in Brooklyn, New York, and at Toronto, Ontario, but most of her life was spent in this community which she greatly loved. She was a member since girlhood of the First Congregational church of this village and had been an active member of the church and greatly interested in its missionary work. June 7, 1865 she was married at her father's home, "Woodlawn" to William H. Bentley. She is survived by her husband and four children, a son, Norman S. Bentley, of Oswego, New York, and three daughters, Carrie Woods Bentley, Mary Frances Bentley and Helen Elizabeth Bentley of this village, a brother, Henry G. Woods of this village and a sister, Mrs. Phoebe W. Knight of Utica, New York. The funeral was held at the family home, Monday afternoon, July 26, 1920 at two o'clock and interment was in the family plot Pulaski cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Frank H. Ferris pastor of the Congregational church. The bearers were Herbert W. Damon, Charles K. Clark and Norman E. Woods of Pulaski, Joel J. Bentley of Syracuse and Capt. John K. O'Connor and Judge J. Rowe of Oswego. Other people at the funeral were her son, Norman S. Bentley, Cynthia H. Beadle, Thomas H. King, Daniel H. Conway and Mrs. L. C. Rowe.
