Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 1, 1963 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Held for Mrs. W. Bentley - Mrs. Winifred D. Bentley, 72, widow of attorney William K. Bentley, died Friday at the Evergreen Nursing Home following a long illness. She had been a patient at the nursing home only a week. A prayer service was held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home, with services at St. James Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. The Rev. Bruce Whitehead of the Adams Episcopal Church officiated. Interment was in Pulaski Cemetery. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Janet) Johnson of Pulaski, Mrs. Roy (Jean) Jones of Poland, Ohio, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Krespan of Wilmington, Delaware, and Mrs. Thomas (Winifred) Evans of Princeton, New Jersey, a sister, Mrs. George (Bessie) Peckham of St. Louis, Missouri, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bentley was born at Maple View, April 22, 1891, the daughter of William H. and Emma Hartson Davis. She was a graduate of Pulaski High School and Oswego Normal and taught in White Plains and Rochester before her marriage to Mr. Bentley on April 23, 1919, at the home of her parents. Mr. Bentley died December 5, 1956. She had lived all her married life on Lincoln Avenue. She was a member of St. James Church, the Guild and Auxiliary of the church, the Women's Civic Club and a former member of the Girl Scout Council of Oswego County.
