- Newspaper Obituary - August 17, 2014 Oneida Daily Dispatch - Jean Joslyn Schuler Obituary - ONEIDA - Jean Joslyn Schuler, at the age of 45 of 425 Sconondoa St., Oneida, N.Y. died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 at the Oneida Healthcare Center after being stricken at home earlier. She was born on Nov. 10, 1968 in Oneida, the daughter of Lewis Joslyn, Sr. and Frances Lighthall Joslyn of Oneida. She married David Schuler in Canastota, N.Y. on Aug. 18, 2007. They would have celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary on Monday. Surviving beside her parents are her husband, David Schuler at home; two sons, Justin T. Bender and his fiance Tiffany Howe, James D. Schuler and one daughter Julie F. Schuler all of Oneida; four brothers, Lewis "Skip" (Teresa) Joslyn Jr., Timothy (Anita White) Joslyn, Bruce (Jessica) Joslyn and Lyndon Joslyn all of Oneida. Six sisters, Debra (Gary) Ratajczak of Vernon, N.Y., Christine (Mike) Mason of Oneida, Patricia (Leland Holmes) Lints of North Bay, Cathy (Bub Chesebro) Joslyn of Oneida, Marjorie (William Seamons) Joslyn on Oneida, and Peggy (William) Mason. Six grandchildren, Jailynn, Raelyn, Tyler, Justin, Jr., McKenzie, and Kendall and several nieces and nephews. Four special friends, Juanita and Jay Chesebro, Beverly Canfield and "Chuckie." She was predeceased by a brother, Jesse E. Joslyn in September of 1973. A special thanks to her nieces, Melissa Ostrander, Jean Farnham and Haylee Holdridge, and to Jean's best friend and niece, Joslynn "Lew Lew" Mason. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, Main Street, Oneida, N.Y. at 2 p.m., with Pastor Tricia Johnson officiating. Calling hours will be held at the Fiore Funeral Home, 303 Main St., Oneida, N.Y. from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will be made in McConnellsville, Cemetery.
