Newspaper Obituary - Saturday, December 6, 2003 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - Charles E. Whaley, Foreman - Charles E. Whaley, 66, Canning Factory Road, died Thursday at his home. Mr. Whaley worked for the Oswego County Highway Department for 28 years, retiring in 1992 as a foreman. He previously worked at Crouse-Hinds, Syracuse, for several years. He was a former chief and member of the Richland Fire Department and a former Boy Scout leader, served as a Little League coach and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Born April 13, 1937, in Richland, son of Orley and Elizabeth While Whaley, he graduated from Pulaski High School in 1955 and was a lifelong resident of Richland. He married Wanda Whaley on February 28, 1958. Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Cheryld A Emmons, Alfred, and Deborah Karczewski, Marietta, and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. Jason Woodford officiating. Burial will be in Richland Cemetery.
