Alta A. Ridgeway Shirley, 71, of 413 Bremm Road, Lacona, died Saturday. Born in Sandy Creek, she was a 1948 graduate of Sandy Creek High School. She worked seven years at General Electric Co., Syracuse, and also provided child care at her home.
Survivors: Her husband of 48 years, William; three sons, Ronald, Jeffrey and Thomas, all of Lacona; a brother, Donald Ridgeway of Lacona; five grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Summerville Funeral Home. Burial, Wesleyan Cemetery, Lacona. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 1997 Harwood Drive, Sandy Creek.
