- Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, August 5, 1908 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Levi M. Bennett - Monday morning, after ten days illness following some months of declining health, Levi Meacham Bennett, one of the oldest residents of this village, passed away. Mr. Bennett was born to the town of Sandy Creek, July 12, 1816, and came to this town fifty-six years ago. He was engaged to building for many years. His wife died several years ago. He is survived by two sons, Morton L., of this village, and Wilton H., of New York, both of whom were with him when he died, Mrs. Wilton Bennett did not arrive until Monday evening. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Congregational church and his funeral services were conducted this morning at ten o'clock, Rev. J. B. Felt, his former pastor, officiating. In the death of Mr. Bennett and Mr. Maltby we find a peculiar coincident. Both were mechanics, working together many years to the old shop now occupied by Box Desk Works and retired from that shop at about the same time, but Mr. Maltby engaged to work later than Mr. Bennett. They died about twenty-four hours apart and the funerals are on the same day.
