Lloyd J. Otis, 67, Otis Acres Drive, town of Richland supervisor, died Saturday at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry officiating.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Pulaski Area Little League in care of Jan Wilson, Ontario Drive, Pulaski, N.Y. 13142.
Surviving are his wife, Vawn B.; two sons, James K., Fulton, and Tim A., Seneca Falls; a daughter, Kim A., Granby, Mass.; two brothers, W. Harley, Adams Center, and Howard, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Elizabeth Anderson, North Syracuse, and seven grandchildren.
Born Jan. 13, 1927, in the town of Richland, son of Earl and Pearle Bemis Otis, he was a life resident of the Pulaski area and graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1944. He served in the Merchant Marines and in the Navy in 1944 and 1945.
He was employed at Douglaston Manor Farm as manager for 14 years, retiring in 1989. He previously owned and operated a painting contracting business in Pulaski for 25 years.
Mr. Otis was town of Richland supervisor for the past seven years.
He married Vawn Bonney April 16, 1952, in Camden Methodist Church with the Rev. Carlton G. Van Ornum, then pastor, officiating.
Mr. Otis was a member and past president of the Pulaski school board from 1969 to 1976.
In 1957, he helped organize the Pulaski Little League program. He served as president and was also a manager and umpire for many years. The present Little League field is named Otis Field in honor of his years of service.
Mr. Otis was a member of Robert Edward American Legion Post 358.
