- Newspaper Obituary - July 14, 1997 Watertown Daily Times - LEON P. GREENWOOD BLOUNT LUMBER CO. RETIREE - Leon P. Greenwood, 83, of 211 Hinman Road, died Sunday at Oswego Hospital. Mr. Greenwood was employed by Blount Lumber Co., Lacona, for 15 years, retiring in 1980. Previously, he worked for the G.L.F. Feed Store, the town of Richland Highway Department and Farrington Fuel and Coal Co., all in Pulaski. For many years, he owned and operated a dairy farm and built and set up Christmas scenes for the Light Up Pulaski Festival held in December. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church and Pulaski Grange. Born July 14, 1913, in Pulaski, son of John and Lorinda Lighthall Greenwood, he graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1929. He married Velma Barnes on Nov. 7, 1934. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Sally A. Fravor, Sandy Pond, seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Carole M. Wilson, died Feb. 19, 1990. A grandson died May 18, 1982. The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home with the Rev. Catherine Salisbury officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. A calling hour will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Northern Oswego County Ambulance or Ringgold Fire Company, Lake Street.

He graduated from Pulaski Academy High School in 1929. He was employed by Blount Lumber Company in Lacona for 15 years, retiring in 1980. Previously, he was employed by the G.L.F. Feed Store, the town of Richland Highway Department, and the Farrington Fuel and Coal Company, all in Pulaski. He had also owned and operated a dairy farm for many years.
