    • Newspaper Obituary - Harrison Porter - Harrison E. Porter, 87, of 9135 DeMott St., Lacona; died Saturday, Nov. 7 at his home. He was born in the town of Boylston to Doten and Nora Cummings Porter. He was married twice, first to Mary Look, who died in 1932, and second to the former Laura Ames, who he married in 1952. He lived in the area all his life. He retired from Douglaston Manor Farms and was a member of the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Church. Survivors include his wife, Laura; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Muniz of Medford, Ore., Mrs. Lila Scordino of Vestal, and Mrs. Iva Mortenson of Johnson City, a son, Maurice of Barnesville, S.C.; a brother, Harvey of Syracuse; 9 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Summerville Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Wheeler, officiating. Burial will be in Wesleyan Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Missionary Society.

      Newspaper Obituary - November 16, 1981 Pulaski Democrat - Harrison E. Porter, 87, of 9135 DeMott St., retired farm worker, died Saturday morning, November 7, 1981 at his home following a brief illness.The funeral was Tuesday at l p.m. at the Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, Rev. Charles Wheeler, pastor of the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Church, officiating. Burial was in Wesleyan Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home were Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Missionary Society. Survivors include his wife, Laura, Lacona; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Elsie) Muniz, Medford, Ore., Mrs. James (Lila) Scordino, Vestal, and Mrs. Iva Mortenson, Johnson City; a son, Maurice Porter, Baraesville, S.C.: a brother, Harvey Porter, Syracuse; 19 grandchildren and 38 grandchildren. Born October 13, 1894, in the Town of Boylston, the son of Wi l l iam and Nora Cummings Porter, he attended rural schools. He married the former Mary Look, who died in 1932. He then married the former Laura Ames on June 26, 1952. For many years, Mr. Porter worked for Douglaston Manor Farms, Pulaski, from which he retired. He was a lifelong resident of the area. Mr. Porter was a member of the Sandy Creek Wesleyan Church.
